Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon sent a congratulatory message to UN Secretary-General António Manuel de Oliveira Guterres
Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a congratulatory message to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Manuel de Oliveira Guterres, which reads in particular:
“Excellency,
I am so pleased to receive your sincere congratulations on the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of Tajikistan’s membership in the United Nations.
Recognition of Tajikistan in the United Nations expanded the process of recognition of state independence of our country by other UN member states, and laid a solid foundation for entry of a sovereign Tajikistan into the world community.
We highly appreciate the historically significant role of the United Nations in the process of establishing peace, stability and national accord in our country.
Over the past years, Tajikistan has used the opportunities of this global tribune to put forward topical initiatives meeting the needs of the whole humanity, especially in the water sphere.
It is gratifying that our cooperation is gradually expanding with the UN specialized agencies and institutions, and today it is on the level of cooperation aimed at sustainable development.
I am confident that this remarkable date will open up a new stage in the development of our cooperation.
We are ready to continue fruitful cooperation with the UN and to make a worthy contribution to the process of achievement of its objectives and supreme values».
