DUSHANBE, 27.04.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon and Acting President and Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn of the Republic of Korea exchanged congratulatory messages on the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between both countries.

The message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon reads, in part:

“Your Excellency,

It gives me great pleasure to have an opportunity in extending to you my best wishes and congratulations on the twenty-fifth anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea.

A quarter of a century ago, i.e. on April 27, 1992, our countries have launched the qualitatively new stage in the history of bilateral interstate relations.

It is gratifying that over the years partnership and cooperation between our countries covered various spheres of common interests and now have achieved the stage of sustainable development.

The Tajik side is interested in strengthening this process and is ready to continue to make consistent efforts to create favorable conditions for expanding relationships and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

I would like to take this opportunity to renew my congratulations to wish Your Excellency health and happiness and to the friendly people of the Republic of Korea — progress and prosperity”.

The message of the Acting President and Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn of the Republic of Korea reads, in part:

“Your Excellency,

I am glad that the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Tajikistan celebrate this year the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Establishing diplomatic relations, our countries developed consistently their friendly relations and cooperation in all spheres, including politics, economy, socio-cultural.

In particular, I consider it significant that during your visit to the Republic of Korea on April 2015 our countries signed an agreement on economic, scientific and technical cooperation and opened the Embassy
of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Republic of Korea, which provided the basis for expanding practical cooperation between the two our countries.

I am confident that we will further develop mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields on the basis of agreements reached at the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

Commemorating this year the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 80th anniversary of the resettlement of Koreans to Central Asia, I express hope for further strengthening of mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation for common prosperity.
