Ambassador of Tajikistan attended the ceremony of commemoration of the victims of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki
DUSHANBE, 11.08.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Japan Hamrokhon ZARIFI, at the invitation of the Mayor of Nagasaki City, Mr. TomihisaTaue, on the eve attended the memorial ceremony marking the 72nd anniversary of the victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
According to the Embassy of Tajikistan in Japan, the memorial ceremony was held at Nagasaki Peace Memorial Park, near to the location where the bomb was dropped, with the participation of the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Shinzo Abe, the leaders of political parties, the Governor of Nagasaki Prefecture, Mr. Hodo NAKAMURA, the Mayor of Nagasaki, Mr. TomihisTAUE, heads of diplomatic missions of foreign countries accredited in Japan, public figures and people of Japan.
The participants offered wreath at the memorial to the victims of the atomic bombing. After the bell rang and the air alarm signal at 11:02, everyone bowed their heads in silence for one minute.
On the sidelines of the event, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Japan Hamrokhon ZARIFI met with the newly appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Mr. Taro KONO, and congratulated him on his appointment to such a high post. The Ambassador also had a meeting with the Mayor of Nagasaki, Mr. TomihisaTaue, during which gratitude was expressed for the invitation to attend the commemorative ceremony.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan also participated in cultural and historical events, and visited memorable places of the city organized by the Administration of Nagasaki City.
