UN Statistics Department staff examined the statistical potential of Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 26.09.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The UN Statistical Division is conducting a project “Monitoring the implementation of sustainable development goals”, according to the Agency on Statistics under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
As part of this project, the staff of the UN Statistics Department Abdullo Gozalov and Vladimir Markhonko on September 18 — 22 visited the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and examined the statistical potential of Tajikistan in the context of indicators of sustainable development goals.
In this regard, a number of meetings were organized with the leadership of the Agency on Statistics, the heads of the departments of the Agency, and the Agency s working group on statistics to monitor the indicators of sustainable development goals. The experts of the UN Statistics Division also held a number of meetings with specialists of ministries and departments of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It should be noted that the meeting analyzed the indicators of sustainable development goals, the number of current indicators collected in subsequent years, as well as the need for modern methodology and solutions to the problem in this area.
