Tajik – Turkish Prime Ministers discuss bilateral relations and cooperation in Istanbul
DUSHANBE, 13.12.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On December 12, on the sidelines of the extraordinary Summit of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Qohir Rasulzoda met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yildirim. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the Information Department of the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It is reported that during the meeting a wide range of issues of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries have been considered.
“The sides expressed their satisfaction with favorable bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries and voiced intention to broaden a political dialogue at various levels, as well as to enhance cooperation in various fields, such as economy, trade, investment, industry development, agriculture, education, tourism and other mutually beneficial sectors, — says the message adding that in this context both sides expressed their determination to increase bilateral trade volume up to 1 billion US dollars, prioritizing cooperation in textile industry, hydroelectric power, mining, and establishment of joint ventures”.
According to the source, along with that, the parties exchanged views on other international and regional issues, including the situation in the Middle East and prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey in this regard. The parties also condemned attempts of the military coup d’état that were organized by the terrorist groups and parties and took place in both countries, and expressed their willingness for further co-operation in the field of security issues.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov and other officials from both sides.
