The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a message of congratulations to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.

The message reads, in particular:

Please accept my sincere congratulations on your election to the high office of the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

It should be noted that during your tenure of office as Prime Minister in 1982-2003 the friendly country of Malaysia overcame many socio-economic barriers, made significant achievements and became one of the rapidly developing countries of the world community.

We are confident in a promising future of Tajik-Malaysian relationships; within the framework of implementation of our foreign policy we will continue our efforts for its further growth.

I hope that in the new period of your activity as the head of the government, cooperation and multilateral partnerships between Tajikistan and Malaysia would raise to a qualitatively new and higher level.
