DUSHANBE, 10.08.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On August 10, 2018, in the sidelines of his official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with the Chairman of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Republic OktayAsadov.

The two sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation.

The President of the country Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the development of inter-parliamentary relations between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group.

It was stressed that at present the parliaments of both countries coordinate their positions at various international levels and exchange information on solving the issues of mutual interest.

The necessity of using the rich experience of parliamentarism of Azerbaijan for strengthening cooperation and mutual exchange was called important. They expressed confidence that further inter-parliamentary ties could be an important factor in strengthening the relations between the two countries.

The sides also stressed the importance of deepening cooperation within the framework of the legal framework of bilateral relations, consisting of interstate, intergovernmental and interdisciplinary political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian documents.

Other issues being of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.

Concluding the meeting, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon invited Chairman of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Republic Oktay Asadovto visit Tajikistan at his convenience.
