President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov
DUSHANBE, 27.09.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov on the sidelines of the session of the CIS Council of Heads of State
The two leaders discussed prospects for developing bilateral relations, including in trade, the economy, science and technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The head of state Emomali Rahmon welcomed the President of Kyrgyz Republic here in Dushanbe and expressed confidence that today’s meeting is an important step toward development of good neighborly relations between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
It was noted that Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan need to concentrate on the intergovernmental commission dealing with boost of trade and economic cooperation, increasing trade turnover, use of water-efficient energy sources, timely implementation of the CASA-1000 regional project, coordination mechanisms for promoting fruit and vegetable production and strengthening cooperation in the field of transportation.
While discussing border issues, the two sides spoke on the speedy solution of issues related to Tajikistani-Kyrgyzstani state borders.
Other issues being of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
