Tajikistan delegation attended the events commemorating the World War I in Paris
DUSHANBE, 12.11.2018 / NIAT “Khovar” /. On November 11, the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by the Chairman of Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Shukurjon Zuhurov attended the events commemorating the World War I and celebrating the centenary of peace of 1918 in the capital of the French Republic — Paris.
As the press secretary of Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Muhammadato Sultonov reports, a cycle of festive events, including a military parade and a minute of silence were held, thematic music was sounded, the Eternal flame was lit at the grave of an unknown soldier.
Before the events commemorating those who died in World War I and the commemoration of the centenary of peace in 1918, on November 10, an exhibition of the famous painter Pablo Picasso was organized at the Orsay Museum in Paris.
“The museum hosted meetings of the head of the official delegation of Tajikistan Shukurjon Zuhurov with a number of heads of other countries’ delegations, including the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron, during which the greetings of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was conveyed to the French President”, — said the source.
The French President expressed gratitude for the conveyed greetings and for the participation of the high-level delegation of Tajikistan in Paris events.
Following the speeches of the heads of state and government at the plenary session, the head of Tajikistan delegation Shukurjon Zuhurov held a presentation of the book entitled “Memori sulh” (“The Architect of Peace”) in English and French, telling about the historical role of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon in ending the civil war, restoring peace and stability, prosperity of Tajikistan and then donated it to the Paris Peace Library.
According to Muhammadato Sultonov, the Vice-President of the Organizing Council of the Paris Peace Forum Trisha Shetty, President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres made speeches at the opening ceremony of the Paris Peace Forum.
We will recall that the Paris Peace Forum will continue on November 12 and 13, during which participants will discuss issues of global governance, including peace and security, the environment, sustainable development, new technologies and inclusive economy.
