Joint Communique of the Leaders Roundtable of the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation
DUSHANBE, 27.04.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – A joint communiqué of the heads of states and governments has been adopted following the roundtable discussions at the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
It consists of a preamble, 6 sections, 38 paragraphs and an annex, including Strengthening Development Policy Synergy, Boosting Infrastructure Connectivity, Promoting Sustainable Development, Strengthening Practical Cooperation, and Advancing Exchanges.
At the initiative of Tajikistan, the heads of 40 countries participating at the roundtable discussions supported the implementation of the UN resolution on Midterm Comprehensive Review of the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development” 2018-2028.
The importance developing transregional transport and logistic routes, including those connecting Central Asia with Caucasus, Europe, Africa, South and Southeast Asia and the Pacific region to increase its transport and communication potential was stressed in the joint communiqué, which also covers cooperation in the fields of agriculture, industry, as well as clean, renewable and sustainable energy for all.
Cooperation and exchange of expertise in the fields of science, technology, culture, arts, creative economy, rural development, folk crafts, archaeology, paleontology, and protection of cultural and natural heritages, tourism, health and sports was also noted, as was the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan-China International Highway, along with other initiatives and projects.
