Meeting of the Committee of CICA Senior Officials Kicks Off in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 13.06.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – A meeting of senior officials of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) kicks off today in Dushanbe.
Representatives of 27 CICA member states attended the meeting, reports Khovar’s correspondent Ibodat Davlatzoda.
The meeting’s goals was the completion of the draft declaration of CICA’s fifth summit, which will be held on June 15 in Dushanbe.
“Today, senior officials of the member states will discuss and analyze the main document, which will be presented to the Dushanbe summit. Senior officials will exchange views on the regional agenda, which will be highlighted in the mentioned document,” said the Executive Director of CICA’s Secretariat Habibullo Mirzozoda.
The tenure of Tajikistan’s chairmanship began in 2018 and will extend until 2020.
The upcoming summit is one of the most important regional events of the year, during which the heads of member states will assess CICA activities, discuss current issues and identify new horizons for cooperation.
The slogan of Tajikistan’s chairmanship is «Common view for security and greater prosperity of the CICA region.»
