CIS Observers’ Mission Head Smagulov Meets with Deputies, PM, FM and Chairman of the Supreme Court
DUSHANBE, 13.02.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The CIS Observers’ Mission continues to observe the elections to the Assembly of Representatives of Tajikistan.
As part of the observation, on February 11 the CIS Observers’ Mission Head Agybay Smagulov met with deputies, Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Court of Tajikistan, reports the headquarters of the CIS Observers’ Mission.
The meeting with the Deputy PM Azim Ibrohim focused on the course of the election campaign.
While emphasizing the importance of the ongoing election campaign, Ibrohim noted the desire and willingness of the Tajik leadership to hold fair and free elections.
The meeting with the Deputy FM Zohir Saidzoda focused on the issues relating to the course of the election process, as well as the organization of the work of the CIS Observers’ Mission.
“The Foreign Ministry will facilitate the work of international observers within the framework of national legislation. Ensuring an open and transparent election in compliance with democratic principles is one of the most important tasks for Tajikistan,” Saidzoda noted.
Smagulov also met with the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court Shavkat Lutfullozoda.
Smagulov spoke about the principles of the CIS Observers’ Mission. Lutfullozoda informed about the work of the judiciary during the election campaign, as well as about the participation of judges in the training of members of election commissions.
