Tajik and Uzbek Medical Workers Hold Video Conference for COVID-19 Pandemic Prevention
DUSHANBE, 12.05.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan hosted a video conference on the prevention and treatment of the COVID-19 infection.
The First Deputy Minister of Health Saida Umarzoda, Uzbek specialists, heads of health departments of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province, Khatlon and Sughd provinces, and hospital officials took part in the conference.
“Holding such conferences can significantly contribute to raising the level of professional knowledge of medical workers,” said Umarzoda.
According to her, in collaboration with Uzbek specialists, the ministry has so far conducted two training sessions for nurses on how to properly don personal protective clothing.
“Additionally, Uzbek specialists visited Tajik laboratories and familiarized themselves with their activities. They are also helping to establish two more laboratories in the country and are currently working with specialists,” added Umarzoda.
“Uzbekistan has provided us with two recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus. Our scientists have also prepared a number of manuals and recommendations for health care workers and made them available throughout the country,” noted Umarzoda.
