Preparations for Upcoming Presidential Election Continue
DUSHANBE, 10.08.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of Tajikistan held their regular meeting. The meeting was chaired by the CCER Chairman Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda.
The meeting focused on the preparations for the presidential election is October, as well as on other issues relating to the organization of the activities of district and precinct election commissions.
The CCER has established district election commissions for the election. In accordance with the Constitutional Law of Tajikistan On Presidential Elections, the CCER has decided to establish 68 election commissions. These commissions include a chairman, deputy chairman, secretary and at least four members. Representatives of all strata of society are included in the composition of district election commissions. The number of women in these commissions meets the requirements for gender equality.
Also, the meeting focused on the issues relating to the material support for the activities of district and precinct election commissions.
Relevant decrees were adopted during the meeting.
