President Emomali Rahmon Attends the Opening Ceremony of International Symposium on Celebrating the 700th anniversary of Tajik Poet Kamoli Khujandi

DUSHANBE, 16.10.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon spoke at the opening ceremony of the International Symposium commemorating the 700th anniversary of Tajik poet Kamoli Khujandi.
The symposium that is taking place in the Khujand is being attended by a number of government members, heads of regional executive authorities, representatives of home and overseas public intellectual.
UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay and ISESCO Director-General Dr. Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik attended and spoke at the symposium through video-conference.
The event is organized by the government and the National Academy of Sciences.
In his address President Rahmon emphasized the importance the government places in honoring and perpetuating the memory of the great representatives of science, culture, and literature, all those who have made a worthy contribution to the protection of history, language and the culture of Tajiks.
“Over the past twenty years, the government has promoted the celebration of anniversaries of Borbad Marvazi, Abuabdullo Rudaki, Abulkosim Firdavsi, Avicenna, Mavlono Jaloliddin Balkhi, Nosiri Khusrawi Kubodiyoni, Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadoni, and other prominent representatives and figures of literature, science, and culture of our people,» said President Rahmon.
Such events play a great role in raising the sense of national pride, self-knowledge and self-awareness of our people, especially the younger generation.
The proposal to celebrate this historic date was supported by UNESCO, and along with us, this holiday is celebrated by the scientific and cultural community of many countries.
President Rahmon emphasized that along with being proud of our rich heritage, each of us needs to thoroughly study the legacy of this great man. Research, study, and promotion of our famous ancestors are the best tools for linking the past with the present.
Kamol Khujandi was a lyricist, author of gazelles. He composed over 1,000 gazelles and made a huge contribution to the improvement of this literary form.
In his gazelles, Kamol Khujandi glorifies love and calls people to optimism, love of life, use of every moment for the benefit of society, and the establishment of moral foundations.
In order to deeply study the life, activity and creativity of the poet, President Rahmon instructed the National Academy of Sciences, Kamoli Khujandi Scientific Center, the Ministries of Culture, Education and Science to take additional measures to collect, study, research and publish the poet’s creations.
After attending the symposium, President Rahmon visited Guliston, where he opened the Murghi Alosifat Poultry factory, which was built by domestic entrepreneur Parviz Boboev.
The factory houses 80,000 chickens, with a planned production capacity of 2,000 tonnes of poultry meat per year. The total cost of the facility is 1.7 million somoni.
Today, there are 125 poultry farms in Sughd, 25 of which specialize in the production of dietary poultry meat.
