Republican COVID-19 Prevention Commission Bans All New Year Celebrations

DUSHANBE, 19.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – In connection with the emergence of the second wave of the spread of COVID-19 in the world, the Republican COVID-19 Prevention Commission is appealing citizens to strictly observe the rules of personal and public hygiene, and to follow the advice and recommendations of doctors and specialists.
In connection with the exacerbation of the economic and financial crisis and the growth of unemployment in a number of countries, the activity of service centers, parks and squares, venues for events and holidays in these countries is closed again, public transport is restricted and another quarantine regime has been declared.
In connection with the current situation, the commission has decided the following:
- Prohibit the holding of all celebrations, including the organization of a New Year’s tree, cultural, festive and other public events on the occasion of the New Year 2021.
- Walking in parks of culture and recreation, squares, avenues and other public places is allowed only subject to the mandatory observance of the rules of personal and public hygiene, the mandatory use of protective masks and strict adherence to social distancing rules of up to 2 meters.
- The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Internal Affairs in collaboration with local executive bodies of state power should strictly monitoring the issues of decontamination in parks, squares and avenues, and other public places.
- The Ministry of Internal Affairs should take additional measures to strengthen the activities of police inspectors to prevent the spread of the infection on the ground.
- The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population, Ministry of Education and Science should strictly monitor the observance of the rules of personal and public hygiene in all educational institutions.
