DUSHANBE, 23.12.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday night, Tajikistan received 2,962,800 doses of CoronaVac, reports the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population.

The vaccine was purchased through the СOVAX mechanism in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and immunize the population.

As of December 23, over 3.6 million citizens or 62% of the population has been vaccinated and nearly 2.9 million or 49.1% have received the second dose of the vaccine.

The Republican COVID-19 Prevention Commission has decided to intensify the activities of relevant ministries and departments, local governments in cities and districts to monitor compliance with the rules of personal and public hygiene, vaccinations, the adoption of strict preventive and anti-epidemic measures, as well as the timely provision of social assistance allocated by the government for low-income families.

According to the decision, vaccination against coronavirus for citizens over 18 years old is mandatory. People who have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus should consult with their family doctor or local health care provider.

The vaccine is provided to the citizens free of charge.
