DUSHANBE, 07.11.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – President Emomali Rahmon called the role of the Constitution decisive in releasing Tajikistan from the deadly abyss.
“In conditions when Tajikistan was in a state of severe political, economic and social crisis, the adoption of such a document that meets the requirements of the modern world in form, method, and content, along with other factors, played a decisive role in releasing the country from the deadly abyss,” he noted yesterday in a congratulatory message on the occasion of Constitution Day.
According him, the Constitution is the expression of the highest interests of the people and the state, a stable system of statehood, protection of political and economic independence, territorial integrity, the rule of law and the orderly activity of state authorities.
“After all, one of the main criteria of our Constitution is to ensure the broad participation of citizens in the management of state and public affairs,” he continued.
“In this regard, I want to remind you that the main place in the Constitution is occupied by the rights and freedoms of citizens. This issue is included in 34 articles or one third of the Constitution,” he added.
The highest value of recognizing a person, his rights and freedoms as the main axis of the Constitution is an expression of the content and essence of a democratic society and the basis for the activities of state structures.
Constitution Day is one of the main national holidays of Tajikistan and is celebrated annually on November 6.
