DUSHANBE, 24.11.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – President Emomali Rahmon called the flag of Tajikistan a sign of the assertion and strength of the national statehood of the Tajiks.
Today, during the congratulatory message on the occasion of the State Flag Day, he noted that in 1994, the Constitution of independent Tajikistan was adopted through a national referendum, in which the flag, along with other state symbols, was fixed as a sign of the assertion and strength of the Tajik national statehood.
“For thirty years now, this sacred national symbol of ours has been flying in all corners of the country, and for the achievements and victories of worthy representatives of the nation in various countries of the world, along with the sounding of the National Anthem, the State Flag is being set and fluttering.”
The State Flag as the most sacred symbol of statehood with its three colors is an expression of the mentality, history and essence of the Tajik state, a clear confirmation that we have a free and independent homeland.
According to President, the State Flag is a symbol that has a unifying power, it awakens national pride and a passionate feeling of love for the Fatherland in the heart of every citizen. Therefore, protecting the flag and honoring it is the personification of high national feeling and patriotism.
The State Flag was adopted as the first symbol of the independent state of Tajiks on November 24, 1992 at the XVI session of the fateful Council.
Today, the flag of Tajikistan, along with other flags of the United Nations member states, flies in front of the building of this organization.
In order to honor this national sacred symbol, by the Presidential Decree dated November 20, 2009, November 24 was declared the State Flag Day. Since that year, this date has been celebrated in the country with special grandeur.
On August 30, 2011, the flag of Tajikistan was raised on a special flagpole in Dushanbe. Its height was 165 meters, in the same year it was considered the highest flagpole of the State Flag in the world and entered the Guinness World Records.
