DUSHANBE, 22.08.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On August 22, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received in the Palace of the Nation Walid Al-Bahar, the Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.

The issues of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and this Fund were discussed at the meeting.

«Tajikistan pays constant attention to the strengthening and expansion of friendly relations and beneficial cooperation with the State of Kuwait and considers Kuwait to be its important partner,» — said the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon at the beginning of the conversation.

The development of cooperation between Tajikistan and this Fund in the financing of important infrastructure projects, including construction of highways, restoration of electrical and irrigation networks, was emphasized with satisfaction.

The Leader of the Nation stated that now necessary measures are being implemented in Tajikistan to provide the population of the country and the region with «green energy» and the development of «green economy».

In this regard, it was considered necessary to attract Kuwaiti capital to the field of renewable energy, especially hydropower, and to strengthen the infrastructure of electric power.

Increasing funding of the Fund for the implementation of investment projects in the fields of education, health and transport was called expedient.

Also, a fruitful discussion was held on other issues of interest to the parties.
