Dushanbe hosts annual meeting of the Steering Committee of the UNODC Central Asia Program for 2022-2025

DUSHANBE, 19.11.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On November 18, 2024, the Annual Meeting of the Steering Committee of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) program for Central Asia for 2022-2025 was held in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan.
Representatives of relevant ministries and departments of Central Asian states and donor countries of the UNODC program attended the event. Welcoming speeches were made at the meeting by the Director of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Zafar Samad, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sodiq Imomi and Acting UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan Victor Olshavszky.
During the event, the moderator of the session, Oliver Stolpe, UNODC Regional Representative for Afghanistan, Central Asia, Iran and Pakistan, reported on the main achievements of the Program in 2024, and the heads of delegations of the participating countries spoke about the results of cooperation in this direction. The draft joint working plan for 2025 was also presented at the session.
