Today, at the Palace of the Nation, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the Director General of the Inter-Agency Intelligence Service of Pakistan, Muhammad Asim Malik.
The meeting discussed the current state and prospects of political relations between Tajikistan and Pakistan, including in ensuring peace and stability, regional security, and resolving other pressing issues of bilateral cooperation.
Expressing satisfaction with the fruitful process of political relations between the parties, the Head of State highly appreciated the level of trust and confidence between the two countries. While emphasizing cooperation in the field of security, the Leader of the Nation noted the regular contacts of representatives of the relevant structures of the two countries. The need to further strengthen cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, radicalization, illegal drug trafficking, transnational crime, and other issues of concern to the parties was stressed.
