On May 15, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali visited the Limited Liability Company “Akia Avesto Automotive Industry” and, after getting acquainted with the activities of the enterprise, put into operation 30 modern electric buses under the “Akia neru” (Akia Power) brand.

It was reported that the electric buses, equipped with heating and cooling equipment, 6 surveillance cameras and 2 display screens, are manufactured in accordance with European standards, have 32 seats and a total capacity of 100 passengers.

The total capacity of the electric bus batteries is 350 kWh, and its autonomous driving capacity is up to 300 km. The warranty for batteries and other electrical components of the electric bus is 600 thousand kilometers or 8 years.

It was said that a modern power supply point has been built at the state-owned utility enterprise “Autobus-1” in the capital to provide these vehicles with electricity every day.

Limited Liability Company “Akia Avesto Automotive Industry”, as a joint venture between Tajikistan and Turkiye, began its activities in January 2018, assembling and manufacturing modern public passenger vehicles of the “Akia” brand, contributing to the rapid industrialization of the country.

It should be recalled that on February 14, 2018, the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, first got acquainted with the activities of the joint venture “Akia Avesto Automotive Industry”, which for the first time in the country assembled and produced buses of the “Akia” brand.

On March 19, 2019, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Mayor of the city of Dushanbe,  Honorable Rustam Emomali, officially launched the production activities of the joint venture.

To date, the enterprise has produced more than 500 buses, electric buses, and electric trolleybuses of various shapes and sizes, which serve passengers on the streets and avenues of cities and districts of our country. The produced internal combustion engine buses have engines and transmissions from the famous German companies “Mercedes Benz” and “Zahnrad Fabrik”.

The Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, considered the implementation of this initiative important and timely in the progress and improvement of the level and quality of services in the passenger transportation sector, and initiated the construction of a production line.

The Head of State was informed that since the beginning of its activities to date, the joint venture has been assembling and manufacturing 8- and 12-meter-long buses, double-decker buses, as well as modern electric buses and electric trolleybuses in accordance with international standards.

The serial production of an 8-meter long bus with the national designation “Akia-Oriyo” and an electric bus with the designation “Akia neru” has been launched for the first time in Tajikistan.

Along with production, the use of packaged and manufactured public transport vehicles under the “Akia” brand in cities and districts of the country for more than 7 years has been a testament to the high quality of the manufactured vehicles, their proper technical use at transport enterprises, maintenance and regular technical inspections, the provision of high-quality spare parts and fuels and solvents suitable for Euro-5 and Euro-6 standard buses for long-term operation.

During the period of operation of the joint venture, the number of local employees has reached more than 200. All of them are experienced specialists who have undergone retraining courses and have improved their knowledge and experience.

It is worth noting that in order to turn Dushanbe into a green city, improve the environmental situation, reduce greenhouse gas emissions from internal combustion engines, and timely implement the instructions of the Head of State and the Mayor of Dushanbe, the company launched the production of electric buses for the first time in Tajikistan, producing 30 electric buses in the first stage.

The Executive body of state power of the city of Dushanbe plans to fully switch to electric passenger transport by 2028.

The Head of State instructed to increase the production of electric buses and take into account the needs of other cities in the country.

The workers and specialists of the enterprise attribute all their achievements to the direct support of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Mayor of Dushanbe, Honorable Rustam Emomali.

It should be noted that today the domestic products of buses and electric buses of the company «Akia Avesto Automotive Industry» are represented not only within the country, but also abroad, and have a special reputation and status.

The analysis shows that the operation of electric vehicles, especially electric buses, is superior to the costs of diesel buses, and on average, 9 to 10 times less money is spent on their maintenance.

After getting acquainted with the production process in the enterprise, the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, highly appreciated the worthy initiative of the leadership of the Executive body of state power of the city of Dushanbe and the officials of the enterprise to implement the constructive measures of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the direction of rapid industrialization and turning Tajikistan into a green country.
