DUSHANBE, 29.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – As part of his official visit, Rustam Emomali, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe, met with Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

The meeting focused on the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Russia.

Both sides paid special attention to the expansion of inter-parliamentary ties between the National Assembly and the State Duma, expressing confidence that these relations would contribute to elevating the multilateral partnership between the two countries to a higher level.

In the area of trade and economic cooperation, it was acknowledged that greater investment in Tajikistan’s economy was essential, particularly in sectors such as trade, construction, transportation, telecommunications, industry, energy, and agriculture.

Other topics of discussion included migration regulation and the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties between the two nations.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest, including topics on the international agenda.
