President Emomali Rahmon Opens Yosuman Sewing and Carpet Weaving Workshop in Devashtich District

DUSHANBE, 12.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 12, the working visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, to Devashtich district continued with the opening of the Yosuman Sewing and Carpet Weaving Workshop.
This workshop is located in the Basmanda village of Vahdat rural community, and covers an area of 420 square meters, providing jobs for 40 craftsmen.
It was reported that the production workshop was built by local entrepreneur Imomiddin Ghafurov.
The Yosuman Sewing and Carpet Weaving Workshop is mainly intended for sewing school uniforms, and also produces women’s, men’s, sportswear, etc. clothing based on customer requests.
10 pieces of carpet weaving equipment and devices have been installed and connected in the workshop. From now on, women carpet weavers from the Devashtich district will work in this corner of the workshop and develop this ancient craft.
The workshop was established based on the interest in the development of traditional folk crafts, including handmade carpet weaving, and within the framework of the implementation of the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the Development of Handmade Carpet Weaving and Other Folk Crafts”.
