President Emomali Rahmon receives heads of delegations taking part in 35th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutor Generals of CIS member countries

On October 21, at the Palace of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the heads of delegations of the Prosecutor General’s Offices of the CIS member states, who are in Dushanbe to participate in the 35th session of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General.
The President of the country, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that the holding of the next session of the Council during the presidency of Tajikistan in the CIS on the eve of the 30th anniversary of its establishment is of particular importance.
Referring to the important role of prosecutors’ offices in strengthening the rule of law and ensuring legal order, it was noted that over the past three decades, the CIS countries have built a reliable system of cooperation to ensure the rule of law and combat crime.
The Head of State expressed satisfaction with the positive results of the meeting of the heads of the CIS states and the «Central Asia — Russia» Forum, which were recently held in Dushanbe.
It was emphasized that during the meeting of the Council of Heads of State, a Three-Year Program of Cooperation of the Participating States on Countering Terrorism and Extremism for 2026-2028 was adopted, the implementation of which will contribute to strengthening peace, stability, and security in the region.
In this context, the key role of the prosecutor’s office in strengthening the legal basis of interstate relations and coordinating the activities of law enforcement agencies in combating crime, including corruption, extremism and terrorism, was emphasized.
It was further stated that the Republic of Tajikistan is an active supporter of international and regional efforts to combat terrorism and other threats.
At the same time, the need to strengthen cooperation between prosecutors’ offices within the CIS and other international and regional structures was noted to counter transnational organized crime and all manifestations of modern security threats and dangers.
In this context, it was noted that the parties need to take and implement joint coordinated measures to combat cybercrime, including the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence by terrorist and extremist groups to achieve their criminal goals.
In conclusion, confidence was expressed that the results of the 35th meeting of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General will contribute to the expansion of beneficial cooperation and effective exchange of experience.
