Dushanbe hosts a session of the Coordination Meeting of Chairpersons of Committees on Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States under the CSTO PA Council.

The meeting participants discussed a wide range of issues related to interparliamentary cooperation on challenges and threats to national, collective and regional security.

It was noted that Tajikistan pays special attention to strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and considers it an important mechanism for ensuring collective security.

It was emphasized that in the current environment, countering threats is only possible through collective cooperation. The CSTO plays a key role in ensuring stability in the region.

Coordination of activities within the CIS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, and through the UN platform was also recognized as important.
