Tajikistan’s Khujand to Host 11th “Children of the Commonwealth” Forum in June

The 11th International Cultural and Educational Forum “Children of the Commonwealth” will be held in Khujand from June 15 to 24, the CIS Executive Committee press service said.
For the first time, Tajikistan will host the forum, at the initiative of the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustami Emomali.
The event is organized by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Majlisi milli of Tajikistan, with support from the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Located in the Syr Darya River valley at an altitude of more than 300 meters, Khujand is described as the largest scientific and cultural center in northern Tajikistan, with historical landmarks that make it an open-air museum.
Schoolchildren from CIS member states are expected to participate in cultural exchange activities showcasing history, traditions, and customs. The program includes exhibitions, workshops, sports competitions, intellectual games, training sessions, music contests, and arts events.
The forum, initiated by the parliament of Kyrgyzstan, has been held since 2013, beginning in Cholpon-Ata. Since then, it has been hosted in various CIS countries, including Russia, Uzbekistan, and Belarus. More than 800 schoolchildren have participated since its inception.
