Tajikistan, Pakistan Pledge to Deepen Cooperation on Water Management

Tajikistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Pakistan Yusuf Sharifzoda met with Dr. Hifza Rashid, Director General of the Pakistan Water Resources Research Council, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in water resources management and scientific research.
According to the Embassy of Tajikistan in Pakistan, the two sides focused on improving water quality, strengthening institutional cooperation, and enhancing the exchange of expertise between specialists in the sector. They also emphasized the development of joint scientific and research initiatives.
Sharifzoda invited Rashid to attend the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” 2018–2028, scheduled to be held in Dushanbe from May 25 to 28, 2026.
Both sides expressed confidence that the meeting would help further strengthen bilateral cooperation in water management and sustainable natural resource development.
