Tajikistan, Mongolia Sign 12 Cooperation Agreements Following High-Level Talks

DUSHANBE, July 21, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Following the high-level talks between Tajikistan and Mongolia, a ceremony was held to sign new cooperation documents.
In the presence and with the participation of the Heads of State, 12 documents were signed.
First, a jJoint Statement by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, on the expansion and development of friendly relations and cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and Mongolia was adopted and announced.
Then, the following documents were signed:
— Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Mongolia on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports;
— Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Mongolia on international road transport;
— Memorandum of Understanding between the Food Safety Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia on cooperation in the field of quarantine and plant protection;
— Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Education of Mongolia on cooperation in the field of education;
— Memorandum of Understanding between the Committee on Primary and Secondary Vocational Education under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Education of Mongolia on cooperation in the field of technical and vocational education and training;
— Memorandum of Understanding between the Committee on Youth and Sports Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia on cooperation in the field of youth and sports;
— Draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Main Department of Geology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Department of Mineral Resources and Oil of Mongolia on cooperation in the field of geological research;
— Memorandum of Understanding between the State Service for Supervision of Industrial Safety and Mining under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry of Mongolia;
— Memorandum of Understanding between the Export Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Investment and Trade Agency of Mongolia;
— Memorandum of Understanding between the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Mongolia on strategic cooperation in the field of pasture restoration, glacier protection, adaptation and resilience to climate change, as well as reducing desertification;
— Roadmap for further development of cooperation in the field of agriculture and food security between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia for 2026-2028.
After the high-level talks between Tajikistan and Mongolia, the Heads of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon and Honorable Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, held a press conference for a wide range of media representatives.
Both presidents interpreted the results of the talks as promising for strengthening and expanding the cooperative relations between the two countries.
It is worth noting that on July 20-21, within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, in Ulaanbaatar, the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mongolia on Trade and Economic Issues, the Tajik-Mongolian Business Forum, and the Days of Tajik Culture in Mongolia were held at a high organizational level.
