President Emomali Rahmon, Mongolian Prime Minister Discuss Expanding Trade and Investment Cooperation

DUSHANBE, July 21, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 21, in Ulaanbaatar, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with Mongolian Prime Minister, Honorable Nyam-Osorin Uchral.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the further development and strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
«We constantly pay special attention to strengthening and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with friendly Mongolia,» — noted Emomali Rahmon at the beginning of the meeting.
The parties placed great emphasis on expanding mutually beneficial ties in various trade and economic areas.
The importance of the regular activities of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation for the further advancement of the entire range of bilateral relations was stressed.
Particular attention was paid to establishing cooperation in the areas of hydropower, agriculture (particularly livestock farming), mining, and geology.
The parties also discussed the implementation of joint projects for the production, storage, and processing of agricultural products, the export of various types of organic agricultural products to Mongolia, and the establishment of joint ventures for processing livestock products.
The development of direct contacts between business circles and the holding of the Tajikistan-Mongolia Business Forum in Ulaanbaatar were considered essential for expanding trade and economic ties. In this regard, the creation of a Joint Council of Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and Mongolia was proposed.
The parties also emphasized their interest in further expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including establishing direct links between higher education institutions, research centers, and tourism organizations.
