Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament has ratified two agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation with the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development, or EFSD.
Under one agreement, Tajikistan will receive $200 million in stabilization financing from the EFSD in the form of a loan. The agreement was signed in Dushanbe by Tajik Finance Minister Fayziddin Kahhorzoda and EFSD Managing Director Yaroslav Mandron.
The second agreement sets the terms for the EFSD’s presence and activities in Tajikistan and establishes the legal framework for the fund’s operations in the country. It also formalizes the EFSD’s official status in Tajikistan.
The agreements were reviewed at the first meeting of the third session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, the lower house of Tajikistan’s parliament, during the seventh convocation.
The ratification marks a significant step in cooperation between the EFSD and Tajikistan and creates conditions for further implementation of joint initiatives.
