Participants discussed the impact of economic shocks and geopolitical risks on macroeconomic stability, fluctuations in global oil, fuel and food prices, and strategies for implementing effective monetary policy amid global economic uncertainty.

They also exchanged views on the potential effects of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, on economic growth, inflation and labor markets.

Tolibzoda presented Tajikistan’s experience in implementing monetary policy and maintaining macroeconomic stability amid external pressures. Particular attention was given to the effects of global price fluctuations, transportation and logistics costs, and economic conditions in Tajikistan’s key trading partners on the national economy.

Participants emphasized that assessing the nature and duration of economic shocks, as well as their effects on inflation, is essential for making informed monetary policy decisions amid global uncertainty.

They also highlighted the importance of comprehensive economic analysis, monitoring potential risks and maintaining flexibility in monetary policy.

The meeting underscored the need for transparency and effective communication between central banks and the public. Timely explanations of monetary policy decisions and the factors behind them help strengthen public and business confidence in central banks’ policies, participants noted.
