Japan’s Government to commence six new GGP Projects in Tajikistan
Dushanbe, 10.03.2016. (NIAT “Khovar”). — On March 10th, 2016, a grant signing ceremony for the six new projects under Japan’s scheme of “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)” was held at the Embassy of Japan in Dushanbe.
The grant contracts were signed by Mr. Takashi KAMADA, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Tajikistan, and the representatives of the six grantee organizations.
The total grant amount amounts to 535,331 USD.
The six new GGP projects signed are:
• “The Project for Construction of a School Building in Dehai Navbunyodi Halqarf Village, Navdi Jamoat, Rasht District”, signed with Mr. Qanoatsho LOIQZODA, Chairperson of Rasht District, for the amount of US$ 88,110
• “The Project for Rehabilitation of the Prosthetic Limbs Manufacturing and Physiotherapy Center of Khujand City”, signed with Mr. Hoshim QOSIMOV, Director of the Prosthetic Limbs Manufacturing and Physiotherapy Center of Khujand City, for the amount of US$ 83,975
• “The Project for the Construction of a New Building for School No.15 in Uguk Village, Ismoili Somoni Jamoat, Devashtich District” signed with Mr. Rustam JURAEV, Chairperson of Devashtich District, for the amount of US$ 103,199
• “The Project for Provision of Medical Equipment for the Pediatric Unit of the Republican Scientific Centre for Cardiovascular Surgery of Tajikistan”, signed with Mr. Zafar SHARIPOV, Director of the Republican Scientific Centre for Cardiovascular Surgery, for the amount of US$ 87,454
• “The Project for Construction of an Annex Building at School No.55 in Sayod Village, Vakhiyo Jamoat, Sangvor District” signed with Mr. Himmat GHAYRAT, Chairperson of Sangvor District, for the amount of US$ 88,781
• “The Project for the Rehabilitation of Child Welfare Institution-cum-Boarding School in Vakhsh District” signed with Mr. Sharbatullo AZIZULLO, Chairperson of Vakhsh district, for the amount of US$ 83,812
During the ceremony, Mr. KAMADA wished the beneficiary organizations successful implementation of their projects. While affirming the friendly relationship that exists between Tajikistan and Japan, Mr. KAMADA emphasized Japan’s firm commitment to supporting Tajik people from human security perspective as well as the importance of implementing socioeconomic development projects that will lead to the upliftment of the rural communities.
Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP) is provided to local governments, educational/ medical institutions and International NGOs in addressing development needs in the areas such as education, health, water supply and the environment.
