Bilateral Political Consultations between Tajikistan and Pakistan held in Dushanbe
Dushanbe, 10.02.2016. (NIAT “Khovar”). —On February 9, 2016 in Dushanbe, in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, regular political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the level of the deputy ministers led by Nizomiddin Zohidi and Amjad Hussain B.Sial have been held.
According to the Tajik MFA Information department, the sides have discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in political, trade and economic, energy, transport, communication, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
In this context, particular attention was paid to the course of implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries at their meeting in November 2015 in Islamabad.
The sides have outlined the joint steps to further strengthening cooperation between the relevant ministries and governmental institutions, intensification of contacts between the business, scientific and cultural circles of Tajikistan and Pakistan, as well as expanding the legal framework of bilateral relations in various fields.
Considering the high level of political interaction between Tajikistan and Pakistan, the sides have exchanged views on topical regional issues and to further enhance cooperation in struggle against challenges and threats to national and regional security.
Following the consultations, the two parties have also expressed their readiness to deepen the political dialogue, including at the highest and high levels, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of common interest.
