(NIAT “Khovar”). — On March 9, 2016, the leadership of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) representatives have discussed the issues of development of the Tajik banking sector and paid special attention to the role of the systemic banks, in particular to Tajik Sodirot Bank (TSB). The parties have also discussed NBT’s efforts in minimizing the impact of the regional crisis on the financial sector of Tajikistan.
According to NBT press service, EBRD welcomed and supported the new strategy of TSB grounded on strengthening bank’s capitalization and aimed at achieving stronger growth and better quality of lending to the real economic sector, including through attraction of new foreign institutional investors to the bank’s capital structure.
