Businessmen of Pakistan are ready to invest in Tajikistan’s hydropower
Dushanbe, 7.04.2016 /NIAT «Khovar»/. “CASA-1000 project is very important for Tajikistan and Pakistan. The launching ceremony of the project will take place in May 2016 in Dushanbe. We hope that its implementation will start immediately after the opening ceremony. Project completion is expected by mid-2018”, — said Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Tariq Iqbal Soomro during a briefing for journalists on the occasion of the upcoming exhibition of Pakistani products.
During the briefing the Ambassador of Pakistan reminded that in January 2016 the Federal Minister for Energy and Water Resources of Pakistan visited Tajikistan to take part in the meeting of the joint working council on cooperation issues in the hydropower.
“During this meeting, the working group discussed not only the implementation of the CASA-1000 project, but also the possibility of investment in the construction of other hydropower plants in Tajikistan”, — Ambassador noted.
According to him, among the Pakistani delegation that arrived to participate in the exhibition, which will begin its work on April 7 in Dushanbe, are entrepreneurs who are ready to invest in the development of hydropower projects in Tajikistan.
