In Dushanbe, Tajikistan and German Foreign Ministers discussed security issues
Dushanbe, 01.04.2016. (NIAT «Khovar»). The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov has met with OSCE Acting Chairman, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier today in Dushanbe.
According to the Tajik MFA Information Department, during the meeting the sides discussed a wide range of bilateral and multilateral issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany, particularly cooperation in the spheres of trade, economy, water and energy, science, culture, as well as inter-parliamentary interaction and the prospects of cooperation in the framework of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
The sides also exchanged views on regional security issues, including situation in Afghanistan and other regional and international subjects.
After the meeting press conference took place during which Foreign Ministers informed about the results of the meeting, regarding the topical issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries, promotion of the development and deepening of trade and economic relations, intention for further development of political contacts, expansion of cooperation in the framework of International and Regional Organizations, regional security, the fight against terrorism and extremism in Central Asia and European countries, situation in Afghanistan and Tajikistan’s cooperation within the framework of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
