Leader of the Nation introduced a 500 kW substation with in door gas-insulated switchgear into operation at the Nurek hydroelectric power plant (HPP)
Dushanbe, 27.04.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon in the framework of his working visit to Nurek attended a ceremony of introducing a 500-kW substation with indoor gas-insulated switchgear into operation at the Nurek hydroelectric power plant (HPP).
This 500-kW substation at the Nurek HPP was launched in 2012 at the direct orders of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The area occupied by the device in the first years of the launch has been 4.5hectares, and is currently only 0.10 hectare. In addition to saving land space, this device has other advantages, such as high reliability, and a 25-yearservice guarantee.
It was reported that the 500-kW substation within door gas-insulated switchgear has been financed by the Asian Development Bank at the total of 54 million 770 thousand US dollars and was built by the German company «Alstom».
President of the country informed that the 500-kW substations with indoor gas-insulated switchgear’s equipment, including high-voltage cables, protection and control devices, as well as telecommunications equipment system are made in France, Italy, Spain and Germany.
It should be recalled that in2013 on the recommendation of the Leader of the Nation and measures taken by the Government of Tajikistan at the Nurek hydropower plant was built and commissioned 220-kW substation with indoor gas-insulated switchgear.
