Leader of the Nation talks on the main directions of foreign policy and expansion of ties with Arab countries
Dushanbe, 16.05.2016 /NIAT «Khovar»/. Within the framework of his official visit to the State of Kuwait, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon gave an interview to the head of news section of television of the State of Kuwait Bandar Nasir Al-Saidi.
President Emomali Rahmon gave thorough answers to questions from journalists about the main directions of foreign policy of the Government of Tajikistan, the expansion of ties with Arab countries, including the State of Kuwait, on the results of the official meeting of the two presidents, aimed at promoting and strengthening of cooperation and joint Tajikistan and Kuwait’s efforts to address regional and global problems.
Also among the most themes of the conversation of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon with Kuwaiti journalists were the issues related to the joint intergovernmental commission activity, the content of the signed documents on cooperation, long-term cooperation in the field of tourism, attracting Kuwaiti investments in the private sector, the results of two decades of diplomatic cooperation and the prospects of their development.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the course of the interview, referring to the current state and prospects of friendly relations and cooperation with the State of Kuwait, said that the Republic of Tajikistan has with Arab countries closely longstanding and good relations, historical relations emanating from a common cultural space and a variety of social and cultural relations.
Emomali Rahmon, given the interest of the top-level management of the State of Kuwait and its business community to expand friendly relations and cooperation, called them promising and successful for both countries.
According to the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the priority areas of cooperation with the State of Kuwait may be the establishment of joint industrial enterprises, supply of drinking water, cooperation in hydropower, oil and gas, mining and processing of mineral resources, the development of cooperation in banking, tax, investment, communications, science, education and culture.
It should be noted that the course of an official visit of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the State of Kuwait, which began on May 15, meetings and negotiations at the highest level has been widely covered in the media of the Arab countries, especially on television and radio broadcasting channels.
