The Leader of the Nation congratulates Dilshod Nazarov with Rio Olympics gold
Dushanbe, 20.08.2016. /NIAT «Khovar»/. This morning, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon congratulated the well-known athlete Dilshod Nazarov on the occasion of his victory in the final round of hammer throw tournament and winning of a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Head of State Emomali Rahmon emphasized that Dilshod Nazarov, due to earning gold medal at this international contest, has upheld the honor and dignity of Tajikistan and raised its national flag that is the pride of the noble Tajik people.
According to Dilshod Nazarov, his victory in this great sporting event was gained thanks to Unity and Independence, and constant support and concerns of the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. It is due to the efforts and initiatives of the Head of State Emomali Rahmon that the sports sphere in the republic is developing, and our athletes take part and win distinguished places in different international tournaments.
It should be reminded that the final round of hammer throw tournament started on 19th of August at 21.05pm, local time, and at 5.05am Dushanbe time, at the Olympics Stadium of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dilshod Nazarov threw the hammer at a distance of 78,68m and beat his contenders.
Dilshod Nazarov is the first Tajik athlete that won a berth for 2016 Summer Olympics of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He took the second place at Grand Prix International Tournament on hammer throwing in Czech Republic, with a result of 79 meters and 36 centimeters, thus clinching Rio de Janeiro Olympic berth.
