Today, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, signed the Decrees of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the State Institutions “Academy of Tourism”, “Institute of World Economy and Diplomacy” and “Institute of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence” under the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan.
In today’s world, the power of states depends on the science, knowledge, and worldview of their citizens, and it is only a well-educated, knowledgeable, and highly qualified generation that can ensure the economic and social development of their homeland.
This issue is under the constant attention of the Honorable Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, and using all available opportunities, hundreds of new educational institutions are built and put into operation in our beloved country every year, and modern conditions for scientific and educational studies are created for teenagers and young people.
Given the increasing priority of the tourism sector, digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the development of society, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, is taking effective steps in these areas.
The establishment of these educational institutions can also be called a sign of Tajikistan’s leadership in implementing the United Nations resolution entitled «The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Creating New Opportunities for Sustainable Development in Central Asia» of July 25, 2025, which was adopted at the proposal of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon.
It is precisely this initiative and leadership that led to Tajikistan being accepted as a member of the World Tourism Organization and the city of Dushanbe as a member of the World Federation of Tourist Cities. The declaration of Dushanbe as the tourist capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization countries for 2020-2021, the inclusion of historical sites and national cultural values in the UNESCO List, are among the significant achievements of our beloved country in this area.
At the initiative of the Head of State, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, 2018 was declared the “Year of Tourism and Folk Crafts Development” and 2019-2021 the “Years of Rural Development, Tourism and Folk Crafts Development”, and the “Strategy for Tourism Development for the Period until 2030” was adopted, which provided a significant impetus for the development of the tourism sector in the country.
In this regard, the “Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in the Republic of Tajikistan for the Period until 2040” was adopted by the decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, which provides for the main goals, including the development of digital infrastructure, training of specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, the implementation of artificial intelligence in the economy, the use of intelligent technologies in public administration, and the development of scientific research in the field of artificial intelligence.
In this process, in order to prepare professionals, language experts and those with modern knowledge in the above-mentioned sectors and fields, the establishment of the state institutions «Academy of Tourism», «Institute of World Economy and Diplomacy» and «Institute of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence» under the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, with the next initiative of the Leader of the Nation, is considered a continuation of the education-oriented policy of the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, and creates new opportunities for young people to become professionals.
