President of Tajikistan meets President of Hungary Janos Ader
Dushanbe, 29.11.2016. /NIAT «Khovar»/. On November 29, in Budapest, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon met with the President of Hungary Janos Ader in the sidelines of the Budapest Water Summit 2016.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon pointed out that «Announcing our next initiative on a new International Decade for Action under the motto ‘Water for Sustainable Development” would contribute to the achievement of SDGs», and expressed confidence that Hungary, in the spirit of kind traditions of partnership and as an active member of the High-level Panel on Water Issues, will support this initiative.
The sides discussed the issues of strengthening the long-term and mutually beneficial interstate cooperation.
It was stressed that the legal foundation of bilateral relationships between Tajikistan and Hungary consist of 7 documents of cooperation and the volume of trade between the two countries is increasing.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with an effective continuation and expansion of friendly cooperation between the two countries within international and regional organizations, such as the United Nations, the European Union, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and the international financial and economic organizations.
The parties exchanged views on strengthening economic and trade relations, including through participation in the implementation of small and large hydropower projects in Tajikistan, construction of energy infrastructure, which has regional and international significance, and emphasized that the establishment of the joint intergovernmental structure on economic, technical, scientific and cultural cooperation would answer the interests of both sides.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the current state and prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan andHungary, and confirmed his interest and readiness to further expand cooperation in the fields of investments, attraction of the Hungarian business community to implement projects in Tajikistan for the processing of aluminum, cotton, fruits, vegetables, precious stones mining, production of building materials, and chemical industries.
It was emphasized that the development of trade and economic relations through the establishment of joint ventures and attraction of advanced foreign technologies meets mutual interests, and expressed the hope that the Hungarian investors and entrepreneurs will pay special attention to this issue.
The two sides exchanged constructive views on developing of cooperation in social fields, including education, health, culture, and tourism.
The presidents also discussed issues related to cooperation in the fight against international terrorism and extremism, as well as ensuring security and stability in the region, including the current situation in Afghanistan.
Hungarian President Janos Ader gladly accepted the invitation of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to visit Tajikistan on an official visit.
