DUSHANBE, 08.12.2016. /NIAT «Khovar»/. Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon put into operation the second line of the Dushanbe-2 combined heat and power plant (CHP).

On September 2014, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of China Xi Jinping laid a cornerstone for construction of the second line of Dushanbe-2 CHP plant with a total capacity of 300 MW.

Total cost of the project implemented by the Chinese company «TBEA” is 349 million USD, of which 17.4 million USD was provided by the Government of Tajikistan.

The first line of the Dushanbe-2 CHP plant was launched with a capacity of 100 MW in November 2012 and was put in commission with the participation of Presidents of Tajikistan and China in 2014. The construction work at the second line of the Dushanbe-2 CHP plant with a capacity of 300 MW and 167 Gcal/h started and completed before the deadline for 17 months.

For implementation of the second stage of the Dushanbe-2 CHP plant project, Open Joint Stock Holding Company “Barqi Tojik” and China’s TBEA signed an agreement in July 2014.

President of the country Emomali Rahmon congratulated those present on the launch of this important facility of the energy sector, and said that this project is an important and visible step towards achieving full energy independence.

Thus, after the launch of the second line of the Dushanbe-2 CHP plant with a capacity of 300 MW, the total capacity reached 400 MW.

It should be noted that in the framework of construction of the Dushanbe-2 CHP plant the 220 kV «Shahrinav» and 110 kV “Hisor” electricity power substations, as well as 110 kV «Hisor-Shahrinav” power transmission line were introduced into operation.

The project aims primarily at securing energy and heat supply of the city of Dushanbe, and in the future it will enhance the industrial potential of Dushanbe, as well as agro-industrial potential of districts of the republican subordination.

After commissioning of Dushanbe-2 combined heat and power plant, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon held conversation with Tajik and Chinese specialists who contributed to the construction of the facility.
