DUSHANBE, 06.02.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. The meeting of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon with the Speaker of the Advisory (Shura) Council of the State of Qatar HE Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi took place today in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

At the beginning of the meeting President Emomali Rahmon pointed out that Tajikistan’s side is very optimistic for further development of its ties with Qatar at all levels of shared interest, and considers mutually inter-parliamentary cooperation an effective means to strengthen bilateral ties and to ensure common interests at the regional and international levels.

It was expressed satisfaction from the renewal of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of Tajikistan and Qatar, and stressed that this method could play an effective role in enhancing the level of bilateral ties in all spheres.

The permanent political dialogue of Tajikistan and Qatar at the highest level has been called the basis for the further development and expansion of ties.

The sides also exchanged views on the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation to ensure security and stability in the region and struggle against the number one common enemy — international terrorism and extremism.

It was expressed confidence that the two nations’ parliamentarians would take an active part in the process of implementation of agreements reached between the two countries during President Emomali Rahmon’s official visit to Qatar that would contribute to strengthening the relations and implementing future cooperation initiatives.
