DUSHANBE, 07.04.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, which reads, in particular:

It gives me great pleasure to extend my sincere congratulations on the occasion of remarkable date — the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of
Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.

During this quarter century relationships between Tajikistan and Russia have steadily developed, and openness and mutual understanding between the two countries became the norm in their bilateral interaction and in multilateral format.

Tajikistan highly appreciates the tremendous historical role of Russia in the process of establishment of peace and national unity, as well as its significant contribution to the country’s socio-economic development.

It is gratifying that over the past years, through joint efforts, we have managed to raise the Tajik-Russian relations to the qualitatively new level of partnership cooperation based on the long-standing traditions of friendship and mutual respect. We value the practical results
achieved during this period in all spheres of coinciding interests.

Considering the whole complex of interstate relations with Russia as a key priority of our foreign policy, we look with good hopes in their foreseeable future and are firmly committed to the implementation of consistent measures to further strengthen cooperation between the two
countries, following the principles of strategic partnership.

In this context we take into account that with a view to enhancing the quality of our allied relationships, attaching to them completeness and proportionality it is important to continue works at all levels in order to attain a balance between the aspects of bilateral cooperation — trade-economic, military and military-technical, humanitarian-cultural and other spheres.

In this regard, I would like to emphasize the importance of joint further actions for practical implementation of agreements reached recently during your official visit to Tajikistan. I believe that we can together realize a huge potential of mutual cooperation between Tajikistan and Russian for the benefit of our peoples.
