Tajik-Uzbek trade and economic cooperation discussed in Tashkent
DUSHANBE, 04.08.2017 /NIAT «Khovar»/. The prospects of bilateral relations and priority areas of the Tajik-Uzbek trade and economic cooperation, establishing interaction at the level of business structures, as well as the organization of the first national exhibition of industrial goods of the Republic of Tajikistan in Uzbekistan were discussed on August 3 in Tashkent during the meeting of the Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan (CCI) Sharif Said with the First Deputy Chairman of State Committee for Investments of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov.
According to the CCI press centre, during the meeting it was stressed that the expansion of bilateral relations with friendly Uzbekistan is considered one of the important directions of the foreign policy of the Republic of Tajikistan. Among the priority areas of bilateral cooperation were named hydropower, transport, new technologies for processing agricultural products, and tourism.
The parties also called the development of cooperation in the field of education and health one of the promising areas of interstate relations. Support for the organization of exhibitions and fairs, business forums is designed to strengthen contacts between business circles of the two countries.
Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have one goal — to improve the lives of citizens, to strengthen economic cooperation. In this context, it is important to intensify work at the level of business structures. This will be facilitated by joint exhibitions, in particular, the holding of the first national exhibition of industrial goods of the Republic of Tajikistan in Uzbekistan. The development of trade could be assisted by the exchange of information between trade structures on the advantages, production potential, competitiveness, trade concessions of both countries, peculiarities of legislation — customs, banking, insurance and transport.
