Meeting with President of Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd
DUSHANBE, 04.09.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President ofthe Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon had a meeting with Zijin Mining Group Co. president, Mr. Chen Jinghe on the sidelines of the Dialogue ofthe Emerging Markets and Developing Countries on the margins of the 9th BRICS Summit in Xiamen, China.
The expansion of cooperation and its prospects between Tajikistan and the Zijin Mining Group Company in the field of increasing industrial production andgold processing at the Tajik-Chinese joint venture (JV), Zarafshon, werethe subject of discussion.
It was noted that Zijin Mining Group Co.during 10 years of its activity in Tajikistan invested more than USD 450 million. To date, the Tajik-Chinese joint venture (JV) Zarfshon has produced 20 tons of gold and the number of workers makes up more than 2 thousand people, 98 percent of which are local specialists.
According to the future plans, the Zijin Mining Group Co. intends to build in Tajikistan one copper plant.
