Tajikistan delegation took part in the official opening ceremony of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway
DUSHANBE, 01.11.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. A solemn ceremony on the occasion of the opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway was held at the Baku International Sea Trade Port on October 30th.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, the Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan, Georgia and Uzbekistan, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Minister of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan took part in the ceremony.
Khudoyor Khudozoroda the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan represented the Republic of Tajikistan in this ceremony.
It was stressed that the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway connects Europe with Asia. Its length is 850 kilometers. On this road, at the initial stage, it is planned to transport 5 million tons of cargo, at the next stage — 17 million tons. Thus, this railway becomes an important part of the transport artery of Eurasia.
