DUSHANBE, 09.12.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. In the sidelines of his official visit to Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon had talks with the members of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Council.

Before meeting with representatives of the GAM Council, President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon and Amman Mayor, Yousef Shawarbeh visited the Exhibition of achievements of the national economy of Tajikistan. The exhibition was organised by the Embassy of Tajikistan in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

During the meeting that took place at the Greater Amman Municipality headquarters, the Head of our state, Emomali Rahmon addressed on enhancing Tajik-Jordanian friendly cooperation with broader prospects.

President Emomali Rahmon thanked the friendly people of Jordan for the warm welcome extended to the Tajik delegation and stressed that Tajikistan and Jordan have a good and long tradition of relationships.

The Head of State expressed his confidence that Tajikistan and Jordan have bred deep-rooted historical ties to develop their multilateral relations and will raise it to a qualitatively new level.

Amman Mayor, Yousef Shawarbeh, presented to the President of Tajikistan Emomali Ramon the Amman City Golden Key, in recognition of his valuable contribution towards the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, strengthening friendship and brotherhood among peoples, as well as other world initiatives of the President of Tajikistan addressing global issues.

President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, became honorary citizen of Amman of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
